Make some noise with those artificial noisemakers that are forbidden by the WPIAL.
Blow the air horns and whistle the whistles -- it is time to celebrate.
The Fumbler never has been above a little self-promotion, which is why he will tell you he is, undeniably, the best high school football prognosticator on the globe after going 60-4 last week (.934 percentage).
The Fumbler doesn't know if it is the greatest one-week performance in his history, as he lost his records -- which were kept in an old Trapper Keeper -- in the 1998 Mount Washington tornado.
With his Herculean effort last week, The Fumbler has advanced his season mark to 346-87 (.799 pct.).
Here are his thoughts on this weekend's top games:
Canon-McMillan (5-2 overall, 3-0 in conference) at Bethel Park (7-0, 3-0) -- This is for the Class AAAA Great Southern Conference title. Canon-McMillan tied for conference titles in 2002 and 2000. Bethel Park's previous conference title was 1998. The Fumbler thinks the biggest key is how well Lyle Marsh runs the ball for Bethel Park. Winner: Bethel Park.
Keystone Oaks (7-0, 7-0) at Sto-Rox (7-0, 7-0) -- Last week, Sto-Rox won on the final play of the game while Keystone Oaks won in overtime. This one should be close, too, and the winner clinches at least a tie for the Class AA Century Conference. Keystone Oaks relies on a strong running game. Sto-Rox has a potent passing game. The Fumbler likes life on the run. Winner: Keystone Oaks.
North Hills (6-1, 3-0) at Shaler (6-1, 2-1) -- North Hills always seems to have trouble winning at Shaler, and this contest will have a huge bearing on the race for the Northern Six Conference title. Keys to the game are Shaler's run defense and if North Hills quarterback Justin Heinauer is on with his passing. Winner: North Hills.
Beaver Falls (7-0, 6-0) at Center (6-1, 5-1) -- Beaver Falls is trying to finish a regular season undefeated and untied for the first time since 1978. This one might not be a pushover if Center's defense comes up with another good effort. Only two teams have scored more than a touchdown against Center. Winner: Beaver Falls.
