Firefighters have brought under control a multiple-alarm blaze that broke out around 2 a.m. on Seventh Avenue in Beaver Falls.
A church and three adjacent buildings were heavily damaged by the flames.
Classes at Beaver Falls High School, the middle school and Central Elementary School were operating on a 2-hour delay because of the fire.
Firefighters said two people jumped from apartments threatened by the fire and had multiple fractures. They were the only ones injured from about a dozen people who lived there.
Otterbein United Methodist Church and its old parsonage were destroyed, and businesses and apartments in the vicinity also sustained heavy damages, firefighters said.
All four buildings were total losses, with early damage estimates totaling $2 million.
