T.J. Heatherington ran for 139 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns for Serra (5-2, 4-1) in a 51-21 rout of visiting Chartiers-Houston last night in the Black Hills Conference.
Heatherington spearheaded a rushing attack that racked up 408 yards , 513 yards total.
Teammate Neal McFarland had 179 yards on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns.
Brad Banas led Chartiers-Houston (6-1, 3-2) with 139 yards on 20 carries and scored one touchdown.
OTRochester 35, Neshannock 0
Bryan Beightley scored two touchdowns to help Rochester (7-0, 5-0) to a shutout win at Neshannock (3-4, 2-3) in the Big Seven Conference. Beightley's scores came on a a 5-yard run and a 21-yard interception return. Teammate Chad Pennington had 154 yards rushing on 16 carries and a touchdown. Rochester, the Post-Gazette's top-ranked team in WPIAL Class A, has limited its opponents to 17 points this season.
Monaca 29, Laurel 10
Tony Reda threw for 165 yards and ran for three scores to lead No. 4 Monaca (6-1, 4-1) to a defeat of visiting Big Seven Conference foe Laurel (3-5, 2-3). Teammate Skyler Schultz ran for 124 yards on 18 carries.
Clairton 55, Burgettstown 7
Deontae Howard ran for 191 yards and three touchdowns while Drew Currington threw for 135 yards and accounted for four scores as No. 2 Clairton (7-0, 5-0) romped visiting Black Hills Conference opponent Burgettstown (2-5, 2-3).
Fort Cherry 71, Frazier 38
Kevin Shanaberger ran for 192 yards on 25 carries and scored one touchdown as host Fort Cherry (6-1, 4-1) beat Frazier (3-4, 1-4) in a Black Hills Conference win.
Bentworth 50, Avella 8
Visiting Bentworth (3-4, 1-4) picked up its first Black HIlls Conference win by overwhelming Avella (0-6, 0-5).
Monessen 33, Jefferson-Morgan 14
Sheldon Miller ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries and lifted Monessen (4-3, 4-1) to a Tri-County South Conference win at Jefferson-Morgan (4-3, 2-3).
Teammate Terrance Stepoli threw for 109 yards and a touchdown and ran for one as well. Jefferson-Morgan's Brandon Kozich led the game with 135 yards passing.
Mapletown 40, West Greene 6
In the Tri-County South Conference, Mapletown (1-6, 1-4), got 152 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns from Cory Minnick and romped visiting West Greene (0-7, 0-5) for its first win of the season.
Beth-Center 27, California 7
Beth-Center (6-1, 5-0) stayed in first place of the Tri-County South Conference by beating California (3-4, 3-2).
Carmichaels 47, Geibel 27
Carmichaels (4-3, 4-1) moved above .500 by defeating Tri-County South Conference rival Geibel (2-5, 1-4).
Springdale 47, Brentwood 7
In the Eastern Conference, Brian Shemenski ran for 114 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns for Springdale (4-3, 4-1) in a victory against Brentwood (2-5, 2-3). Teammate Adam Shepherd had 139 yards and one touchdown.
Carlynton 30, Wilkinsburg 12
Jake Howard had 147 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown rushing to lead Carlynton (3-4, 2-3) to an Eastern Conference win against visiting Wilkinsburg (0-7, 0-5).
Avonworth 67, Leechburg 0
No. 3 Avonworth (7-0, 5-0) remained undefeated by shutting out visiting Eastern Conference foe Leechburg (0-7, 0-5).
