The Parkway East is to be closed again this weekend -- perhaps for the last time this year -- in the inbound direction only from Churchill Exit 10A to the Edgewood-Swissvale interchange for continuing rehab work.
"If all goes well, this will be last total closure on the mainline for the current construction season," Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11 spokesman Jim Struzzi said. "There will still be overnight and weekend lane restrictions and some continuing work on ramps and overpasses."
The three-mile stretch is to be closed from 8 p.m. today through no later than 6 a.m. Monday, when all lanes will be open for the inbound rush hour.
The Parkway East outbound mainline will not be affected by this weekend's schedule.
Meanwhile, PennDOT also has announced that outbound traffic is to be restricted again on the Parkway West from 8 tonight to 6 a.m. Monday from the Route 22-30 interchange to near the Montour Run Road interchange, weather permitting, for the ongoing resurfacing project.
