Monday, October 06, 2008

A pair of Pitt football players are the winners of the Big East's offensive and defensive players of the week.

Running back LeSean McCoy and linebacker Scott McKillop gained the awards after the Panthers upset then-No. 10 South Florida, 26-21, Thursday.

McCoy ran for 142 yards and two scores in the game, and McKillop collected a team-high 12 tackles, had two quarterback sacks, three total tackles for loss and snuffed out a fake field goal against the Bulls.

No. 24 Pitt (4-1, 2-0 Big East) has a bye week and next plays at Navy (4-2) on Oct. 18.
