White expected to play
Monday, October 06, 2008

After exiting early Saturday without returning, quarterback Patrick White was expected to practice as usual and play this weekend against visiting Syracuse, West Virginia coach Bill Stewart said yesterday.

"He got dinged up a little bit ... hit in the head," he said of White's third-quarter injury in a 24-17 victory against Rutgers. "He was a little woozy. He had his whereabouts, for the most part. Just precautionary measures.

"He's not in any kind of concussion state at all. He should be very much fine by this weekend. If everything progresses as we think it will, he will be in the lineup on Saturday."
