Three wounded in shooting on Donora street
Sunday, October 05, 2008

Two of three men who were shot on a Donora street remained hospitalized at UPMC Presbyterian last night, state police said.

Alan Lomax, 18, of Monessen, was wounded in the abdomen and flown to the hospital, said Trooper Craig Yauch. Derrick Dixon, 21, of Charleroi, was shot in the left calf, the trooper said.

The third victim, Joseph Heath III, had a less serious injury. Mr. Heath, 19, of Monessen, was wounded in the left thigh. He was treated at Mon Valley Hospital and then released, Trooper Yauch said.

The three were standing in a yard at 112 McKean Ave. about 4:45 p.m. Friday when a gunman or gunmen fired at them. Trooper Yauch said it was not a drive-by shooting. He said no suspect had been identified.
