Friday, October 03, 2008

A man who was shot multiple times yesterday in Homewood was upgraded last night from critical to stable condition, Pittsburgh police said.

Mark Hammond, 23, was taken to UPMC Mercy after the shooting, which happened about 4:40 p.m. in the 7600 block of Race Street.

Police think Mr. Hammond was inside his vehicle when someone opened fire, striking him in the legs and side. A motive for the crime is unknown.

No arrests have been made.
