National Public Lands Day: Sept. 27
There are no "No Trespassing" signs on public lands. As part of the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance public lands, event organizers invite outdoors recreationists to volunteer a few hours of work at any of 38 National Public Lands Day sites across Pennsylvania. Sites include Canonsburg Lake, Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, Jennings Environmental Education Center, Keystone State Park, Laurel Hill State Park, Loyalhanna Lake, Ohiopyle State Park, Pleasant Valley Park and Pymatuning State Park.
