Ride to the Wall

The goal is to have 1,761 riders -- one for each service member listed as a prisoner of war or missing in action from the Vietnam War -- in the 56-mile ride through Beaver County, with a police escort. Each rider will wear a ribbon with the name of a POW/MIA.

The ride will end in Quay Park in Beaver, where the wall will be on display. A candlelight ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The moving wall is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Its display is being sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 862.

Registration for the ride will be from 3 to 6 p.m. For information or to participate, call 724-378-4540.
