The Butler County Community College Alumni Association has selected 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients. The awards recognize former students who make outstanding contributions in their professions and communities.
Recipients are Dr. Kimberly Batty-Herbert, Class of 1979, dean of Arts & Sciences at South Florida Community College in Avon Park, Fla.; Leonard Haney '83, lead F/A-22 aircraft flight test instrumentation operations/design engineer at Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems Co., in Marietta, Ga.; Dr. Marlene Hassenfratz, '98, physician-psychiatrist at the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y.; Wayne Seibel, '74, retired police officer and current District Court judge in Evans City; and Patrick C. Smith, '72 retired special agent in charge with the U. S. Secret Service and current U.S. marshal for the Western District North Carolina in Charlotte.
Distinguished Alumni will be recognized at the Oak Hills Legacy Dinner in Founders Hall on Oct. 4.
