A Pleasant Hills teenager who went missing a week ago was found unharmed tonight in the company of a 24-year-old male friend in Atlantic City, N.J., the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office announced.
An FBI agent spotted Caitlin Stanley, 17, with Calvert Chesleigh, 24, of West Mifflin, around 6 tonight at an intersection in Atlantic City. Both were taken into custody.
Caitlin told authorities that she willingly traveled with Mr. Chesleigh to New Jersey. She was later released to her parents.
Mr. Chesleigh was wanted on two bench warrants issued Wednesday for failing to appear in court on charges of theft, DUI and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was also charged with unlawful flight to avoid apprehension in connection with the missing teen. He was being held in the Atlantic City Jail awaiting extradition to Allegheny County.
Caitlin, who failed to return home after the first day of her senior year of high school, was reported missing Aug. 29 by her parents. The girl was last seen by her family that morning when she left for school.
