Pitt basketball schedule announced

Pitt released the men's basketball schedule for the upcoming season today, and the Panthers will face three opponents from other major conferences before Big East play begins.

Pitt, which is expected to begin the season in the top 10 in the polls, will play in the Legends Classic in Newark, N.J. over Thanksgiving weekend. The Panthers will play two of the following three teams -- Mississippi State, Texas Tech and Washington State.

Pitt also travels to Tallahassee for a game at Florida State Dec. 21.

Pitt begins Big East with two roads games. The Panthers play at Rutgers on New Year's Eve and at Georgetown Jan. 3. They open Big East play at home Jan. 11 against St. John's. The regular season finale on March 7 is a nationally televised game against Connecticut. The game starts at noon and is on CBS.
