Jeff Sinclair

Highlands

Last week: A senior quarterback for the Golden Rams, Sinclair threw for 154 yards and rushed for 106 in a 24-16 win against Fox Chapel. He scored on a 13-yard run and completed 15 of 27 passes.

Check this out: At 6 feet 3, 185 pounds, Sinclair has good size and has been impressive, but does not have a Division I offer. "A lot of schools said they are close," he said. "They want to see me just a little more."

Your team has the ball at your own 20, down five points with two minutes left and no timeouts. Who would you want as your quarterback? Tom Brady, because he is the best. He is so cool and calm and adjusts well to every situation.

Former Highlands and Connecticut quarterback Matt Bonislawski is your school's athletic director, what have you learned from him? He has taught me a lot of patience and a lot about my form. He's worked hard to help make me better.

The best player you have played against is ... I scrimmaged against Terrelle Pryor. He was just so big and fast, it was scary.

Your most embarrassing moment in football has been? Probably in a game last year when I tried to jump over the pile and didn't make it. I still get made fun of a lot for it.

If you won a million dollars, what would you buy first? I'd buy season tickets to New England Patriots games.

Brittany Loveland

Springdale

The past week: She scored four goals in the season opener against East Allegheny Saturday and one against Elizabeth Forward Sunday.

Check this out: Loveland, a 5-foot-3 junior forward, scored 32 goals as a sophomore and 18 as a freshman. She is one of the main reasons Springdale is the Post-Gazette's No. 1-ranked WPIAL Class AA team.

Your team made it to the WPIAL championship last year. Is this Springdale's year? We all want it just as bad as last year. We keep practicing hard and working hard to reach our goals, which are to win the WPIAL and make it to the state [PIAA] final.

What's the biggest key to being a big goal scorer? Just practice and also getting encouragement from your family and friends. I remember when I was little, they would just say, 'Brittany, go score.' And that's what I did.

What's the worst injury you had in soccer? I got my head busted open in June when I collided with another girl. I had 14 stitches on the outside, and I don't know how many on the inside.

Your school's nickname is Dynamo. Do you know what a Dynamo is? It's a generator, a lightning generator. It generates electricity and power.

People might be surprised to know that ... I can eat a whole box of Oreo cookies in a half hour -- and not gain a pound.
