The second annual Sewickley Farm Show opens Saturday. The event, presented by Sewickley Gallery & Frame Shop and Table Magazine, blends local art and local food by pairing 10 artists who interpret 10 regional farms. The art exhibit opens at 10 a.m., coinciding with the nearby St. James Farmers Market (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), which will include a mini-showing of the artists with their farms' products as well as food samplings, live music and kids activities.
From 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, an artists reception will be held at the Sewickley Gallery during Sewickley's Fall Gallery Walk. (Two of the 10 artists exhibit at the Élan Gallery.)
Other sponsors are WYEP-FM, The Allegheny Front, Geyer Printing, Slow Food Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture.
The Sewickley Farm Show runs through Sept. 27. For more information, call 412-741-5858 or visit sewickleygallery.com, where you can see all the art works.
