Wednesday, September 03, 2008

American Eagle Outfitters ended August a bit stronger than it went in.

The South Side teen retailer reported sales in established stores fell 5 percent for the four weeks ended Aug. 30, up from the 6 percent month-to-date dip officials had reported last week. Total sales rose 3 percent to $320 million.

The company is sticking with third-quarter earnings guidance of 31 to 36 cents per share, compared to 45 cents last year.
