Woman dies in McCandless fire

A 75-year-old woman was found dead inside a burning house in McCandless late last night.

Gloria Wright was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m. after she was found in a home in the 800 block of Saratoga Drive, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office. She died of acute smoke and fume inhalation and her death was ruled an accident.

Allegheny County homicide detectives, fire marshal and staff from the medical examiner's office were called to the scene.

The cause of the blaze remained unknown last night.
