Friday, E! will explore the "15 Most Shocking Political Sex Scandals" in a two-hour special.
We don't know if the following are the most shocking, but they definitely were scandalous at the time.
President Bill Clinton -- This was the mother of all political scandals as the sitting president of the United States had to admit that he did indeed have "sex with that woman" -- White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. She had the stained blue dress to prove it.
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer -- This married official, who campaigned on a platform of moral righteousness and reform, resigned earlier this year when it was learned that he was using a call girl service.
New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey -- This married official stepped down in 2004 after admitting to a homosexual affair.
Gary Hart -- The former U.S. senator from Colorado dropped his 1987 presidential bid after it was revealed that he'd been keeping company with model Donna Rice. When rumors started about an extramarital affair, Hart challenged reporters: "Follow me around. I don't care. I'm serious. If anybody wants to put a tail on me, go ahead." The Miami Herald did and broke the story. After the National Enquirer published a photo of them together aboard a boat called Monkey Business, he dropped out of the race.
Wayne Hays -- The Ohio representative hired Elizabeth Ray as a secretary, who admitted "I can't type, I can't file. I can't even answer the phone." Hays, who obviously had not hired her for her secretarial skills, resigned in 1976.
