Q: Do you feel Penn State has enough on defense to do the job in 2008 and hopefully bring a Big Ten title to State College or maybe another bowl berth?

Wilbur Jenkins, Charleston, W.Va.

MUSSELMAN: Wilbur, when last season ended, Penn State looked liked it would have another top 10-ranked defense, despite losing All-American linebacker Dan Connor to the NFL. But then cornerback Justin King opted to leave school a year early and enter the draft, talented linebacker Sean Lee suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the spring and projected starting tackles Chris Baker and Phil Taylor were booted off the team. The D-line was weakened even more when backup tackle Devon Still suffered a broken leg during a scrimmage Saturday. There's a lot of talent gone. Still, the Lions should be solid, with star end Maurice Evans and safety Anthony Scirrotto leading the way.
