Wilderness survival:
Aug. 23

You strayed -- just a little it seemed -- off the trail. But suddenly nothing seems familiar, the path you were on a minute ago is nowhere to be found and on the horizon the sun is sinking fast. Uh oh.

A survival training program at Ohiopyle State Park begins with a primer on how to avoid the need for survival training and what to carry on day hikes just in case you do. The program tests your survival skills and includes a video on difficult survival situations. Meets at 10 a.m. at the train station. For details call 724-329-8594.
