The smiley face has a special place in Pittsburgh: a CMU professor first turned it on its side for ubiquitous computer use, and then there are the Eat'n Park trademark cookies. Now comes the film "Smiley Face," making its Pennsylvania debut at The Oaks Theater in Oakmont at midnight Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.
The comedy stars Anna Faris ("Scary Movie" and "The House Bunny," due in theaters Aug. 22), John Krasinski ("The Office"), Danny Masterson ("That '70s Show), Adam Brody ("The O.C.") and John Cho ("Harold and Kumar"), among other familiar faces. It's about Jane F, described as "an unsuccessful slacker actress" who's having a bad day that keeps escalating into more outrageous misadventures, including encounters with pot-laced cupcakes and the original manuscript of the Communist Manifesto.
