A poem: 'Andy Warhol for Campbell's Soup'
Sunday, August 03, 2008

May 19, 1964, Mr. A. Warhol,
1342 Lexington, Nyc, New York,
Dear Mr. Warhol: I have followed
your career for some time. Your art

evokes a great deal of interest here
at Campbell's for obvious reasons.
At one time I hoped to acquire one
of your Campbell's Soup label

paintings, but I'm afraid you
have grown much too expensive.
I did want to tell you, however,
that we at corporate admire your

work, and since I have learned
you actually like Tomato Soup,
I am taking the liberty of shipping
out a couple of cases of our Tomato

Soup to you at this address.
Continued success and good fortune,
William P. McFarland, Product
Manager, Campbell's Soup.
