O'Hara police spotted a car theft suspect this morning and gave chase.

The man, later identified as Jason Pisano, ditched the car and headed along a small stream that's a tributary of Pine Creek, eventually ending up on the banks of the Allegheny River. He then swam across and hid in brush along the banks on the city side.

City Police, called in to assist, searched for him there, and eventually brought in thermal infrared imagers to locate him. He was arrested shortly before noon.

Sharpsburg police also assisted, and Allegheny County police have been called in on the case. They are processing the car reported stolen.
