Little Bites: Sip, nibble and learn

• In conjunction with its summer exhibit, "Chocolate!," Phipps Conservatory is offering an educational talk along with a wine and chocolate reception in Botany Hall, Aug. 1 from 7-9 p.m. Scott Rawlins, a professor of scientific illustration at Arcadia University in Glenside, Montgomery County, where he also teaches a class about chocolate, will speak about the natural and cultural histories of chocolate and current trends in production and advertising. To register, call 412-441-4442. Cost is $25 for Phipps members, $30 for nonmembers.

PIG ROAST

• Stone Mansion in Franklin Park is holding a pig roast and luau on its patio Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The pig roast is $25 per person including a choice of appetizers. Call 724-934-3000.
