PICT's celebration of the complete plays of John Millington Synge will be staged in the Charity Randall and Henry Heyman theaters, Stephen Foster Memorial, University of Pittsburgh.

The company: Jerzy Gwiazdowski, Mari Howells, Martin Giles, Derdriu Ring, Rebecca Berkman-Rivera, Ben Blazer, Bridget Connors, Amanda Jane Cooper, Jon Farris, Laura Lee Mixon, Jason McCune, Susan McGregor-Laine, Kevin Murphy, Michael Providence, Philip Winters and Kate Young.

The design team: Gianni Downs, Elizabeth Atkinson, Jim French, Niki Ellis and Marissa Miskanin.

"THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD"

Directed by Andrew S. Paul: a robust, lyrical comedy of self-realization and regret.

ONE-ACT PROGRAM A

"Riders to the Sea," directed by Sheila McKenna: a spare tragedy of fate and death in the Aran Islands.

"The Well of the Saints," directed by Martin Giles: a comedy in which an old blind beggar couple experience a miracle and also its reverse.

Charity Randall Theatre: 8 p.m. July 25, 29 and 31 and Aug. 8; 2 p.m. July 27 and Aug. 3 and 17.

ONE-ACT PROGRAM B

"When the Moon Has Set," directed by Melissa Hill Grande: A young nun must weigh the laws of nature against those of the church.

"Deirdre of the Sorrows," directed by Synge Cycle dramaturg Ellen Mease: the tale of strong-willed Deirdre, intended bride of the warrior-king Conchubor.

Charity Randall Theatre: 8 p.m. Aug. 2 and 5; 7 p.m. Aug. 3 and 17; 2 p.m. Aug. 10.

ONE-ACT PROGRAM C

"The Tinker's Wedding," directed by Paul: a comedy about tinkers, the church and all who take themselves too seriously.

"The Shadow of the Glen," directed by McKenna: a comedy/drama about a young woman facing alternatives after the death of her old husband -- or is he dead?

Charity Randall Theatre: 8 p.m. Aug. 9, 12 and 14; 2 p.m. Aug. 16.
