With the claim "dessert is the new dinner," Dozen Bake Shop at 3511 Butler St. in Lawrenceville launches a trendy dessert bar tomorrow.

From 5:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays, you can come in -- perhaps after dinner elsewhere -- and choose from five or six desserts, mostly priced at $7 to $10, from a fancy dessert menu that will change monthly. Bring your own alcoholic drinks if you like. Linger.

Chef/owner James Gray says offerings will include "interactive" ones such as a trio of cakes with sauces you pour at the table called "Study in Chocolate."

He says his pastry chefs all came up with recipes based on the idea, "Let's really make it unique, let's really make it different" from desserts at most restaurants.
