Birding by Boat: July 13

During a leisurely paddle on Somerset County's Laurel Hill Lake, an observant nature lover might see various waterfowl, hawks and on a good day a bald eagle. The folks at Laurel Hill State Park have set up precisely that kind of adventure and will send an expert along to help paddlers learn to identify birds by sight, flight and sound. The birding by boat expedition meets at 10 a.m. at Laurel Hill Beach below the Willis Pavilion. For details call 814-445-7725.
