An East Deer man was killed this afternoon when he lost control of the cement truck he was driving near Route 8 in Shaler.

Steve Wilson, 29, died just after 2:30 p.m. when the fully loaded truck crashed through a guard rail on Elfinwild Road and rolled onto its side in Pine Creek.

An autopsy is planned for tomorrow morning.

Authorities set up booms to contain fuel that might have leaked from the truck.
