Tuesday, July 08, 2008

Poetry makes its annual summer appearance on the South Side tomorrow when a trio of poets give voice to their words -- and others'.

Ann Curran, Judith Robinson and James Deahl appear at 7 p.m. at Joseph-Beth Booksellers, 2705 E. Carson St., in a free program that will include readings from "Along These Rivers," the anthology of regional poems and photos co-edited by Robinson and published this spring.

Curran is author of the collection "Placement Test" and a contributor to numerous publications, including the Post-Gazette. Deahl, a Pittsburgh native, is a longtime resident of Canada and author of 16 books, primarily poetry. Robinson is also editor of the anthology "Only the Sea Keeps: Poetry of the Tsunami, 2005" and "Living Inland."

Sponsoring the readings are the South Side Local Development Co. and David W. Oster.
