A driver was killed in a head-on collision early today that briefly closed Route 422 in Pine Township, Indiana County.

The driver, who has not been identified, was not wearing a seatbelt when his Chevrolet Metro CP crossed the center line about 4 a.m., colliding with a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, Todd Hozak of Marion Center, Indiana County, was not injured.

The road remained closed for three hours while police processed the scene and the vehicles were cleared from the road.
