CINCINNATI -- The Pirates today recalled right fielder/first baseman Steve Pearce from Class AAA Indianapolis to fill Matt Capps' spot on the 25-man roster. The Pirates expected Pearce to arrive at Great American Ball Park during tonight's game. Indianapolis played at Louisville tonight.

Pearce probably will be with the Pirates just for this weekend series in Milwaukee. The Pirates will have to make more roster moves next week when starting pitchers Phil Dumatrait (Monday) and Ian Snell (Tuesday) come off the disabled list.
