McArdle Roadway and the sidewalk between Grandview Avenue and the Liberty Bridge are to be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today while a contractor removes trees from the hillside.
People have complained that the trees are blocking scenic views from atop Mount Washington.
In addition, the Greenfield Avenue Bridge will be closed intermittently for up to 15 minutes at a time during the same period while the city Department of Public Works mills Alger Street from Winterburn Avenue to Ronald Street and Beechwood Bouelvard from Ronald Street to Boulevard Drive.
Meanwhile, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will continue to limit traffic to a single lane on the Parkway West/Interstate 279 outbound around the Greentree Road interchange from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily through Thursday morning while crews work overhead on the Greentree Road overpass.
Inbound traffic will not be affected, but the outbound exit ramp to Greentree Road will be closed during the same period.
