Allegheny County police this morning arrested a man in connection with a fatal weekend shooting outside the Eat'n Park restaurant at the Waterfront complex.

Freedom Bey, 34, was apprehended by county detectives at a female friend's house in Homestead.

Homestead police assisted in the arrest.

Mr. Bey, whose last known address is on Mayflower Street in Larimer, was charged with homicide and a firearms violation. He is accused of shooting Brendan Brooks of Homewood around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning, just as the man was leaving the Eat'n Park restaurant.

Mr. Brooks was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he died from a gunshot wound to the trunk.
