The Pirates today optioned starter Ty Taubenheim back to Class AAA Indianapolis and recalled reliever Romulo Sanchez.

Taubenheim pitched six solid innings in the 4-3, 13-inning victory against Tampa Bay last night.

Sanchez, whose tour with the Pirates will be his second, had a 2.85 ERA and four saves in 25 appearances for Indianapolis.
