The Pittsburgh Passion ran its record to 9-0 with a 41-6 victory against the Orlando Mayhem in a Independent Women's Football League playoff game at Cupples Stadium.
Quarterback Lisa Horton completed 4 of 11 passes for 125 yards and two scores for the Passion. Torina Henley rushed 12 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns and Lori Johnson caught three passes for 104 yards and two scores.
The Passion will play at the Chicago Force (9-0) July 12.

Kevin Jones went through a workout while four NFL teams watched the running back sprint and cut just five months after he had major knee surgery. Dr. D.S. Ping, who has been helping Jones rehabilitate his right knee, said Miami, Green Bay, the Steelers and Detroit sent representatives to the workout in Saline, Mich. The Lions cut their former first-round pick in March with one year left on his contract after he hurt the knee late last season.
John Dutton threw six touchdown passes to help the visiting Colorado Crush beat the Utah Blaze, 49-44, in the Arena Football League playoffs. Dutton was 30 of 47 for 268 yards.

World record-holder Usain Bolt beat former record-holder Asafa Powell in the 100-meter final last night in Jamaica's Olympic trials, finishing in 9.85 seconds. Powell was second in 9.97. Last month in New York, Bolt ran a 9.72 to break Powell's world record of 9.74. Kerron Stewart won the women's 100 in 10.80, the second-fastest time by a Jamaican woman. Shelly-Ann Fraster was second in 10.85, Sherone Simpson followed in 10.87 and world champion Veronica Campbell-Brown fourth in 10.87.

The Chillicothe Paints (19-17) pounded out 13 hits and defeated visiting Washington. 10-3, in Frontier League play last night. Robbie Knapp went 3 for 5 for the Wild Things (18-18) and Phil Butch was 2 for 4.

U.S. beach volleyball stars Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won their 34th SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medal, beating Greece's Vassiliki Arvaniti and Vasso Karadassiou, 21-13, 21-14, in Stavanger, Norway.

Sophia Young scored 20 points and the San Antonio Silver Stars capitalized on Seimone Augustus' absence to beat the visiting Minnesota Lynx, 73-65, in the WNBA.
