Tour cyclists on Rt. 30 expected to cause delays tomorrow and Friday
Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Drivers on U.S. Route 30 in Bedford and Fulton counties are encouraged to use caution tomorrow and Friday, when cyclists from the 2008 Tour of Pennsylvania race will travel through the area.

State troopers will be coordinating traffic control, leading some 150 participants with a "rolling road closure," officials announced earlier this week.

Tomorrow, cyclists will be ascending two mountain passes, Tuscarora Summit and Sideling Hill, which could create significant traffic delays and backlog along Route 30 westbound. They will continue through Breezewood and into Bedford Borough, where they will spend the night.

Then, at 11 a.m. Friday, they will head back out on Route 30 toward Latrobe.
