Morgan coming back from Indianapolis
Strong sign that Nady will go on disabled list
Friday, June 20, 2008

CHICAGO -- The Pirates today will recall outfielder Nyjer Morgan from Class AAA Indianapolis, a clear sign they are about to place Xavier Nady on the 15-day disabled list.

Nady, whose left shoulder was bruised Saturday in Baltimore, began swinging off a tee yesterday morning. He is expected to swing again today but, with the Pirates losing the luxury of the designated hitter by returning to PNC Park, his apparent inability to play for an extended stretch would be costly.

If he goes on the disabled list, it will be retroactive to the day of the injury, and he would come off June 30.

Morgan batted .239 with 10 RBIs and 19 steals after being demoted.
