A Beaver Falls man was killed last night when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on the Beaver Falls-New Brighton Bridge, police said.

Robert Lynn Childress, 48, of Fourth Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene by Chief Deputy Coroner Renee Esoldo.

Police Chief Charles Jones said Mr. Childress had been riding across the bridge just after 11 p.m. when, on a slight bend, he crashed into a concrete barrier that separates the roadway from a walkway.

Mr. Childress was not wearing a helmet, Chief Jones said.
