UPMC physicians top the list of Pittsburgh Magazine's "Top Doctors" survey. The May issue of Pittsburgh Magazine, lists 103 UPMC and UPMC-affiliated physicians among the 129 listed as "Top Doctors." In most categories, UPMC doctors are the only physicians recognized. The listing was compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., whose physician-led research team follows a screening process to select top doctors on the national and regional levels.
Gateway Rehabilitation Center was recognized nationally for winning one of the 2008 James W. West, M.D. Quality Improvement Awards, presented annually to organizations that demonstrate a discipline and commitment to quality improvement and are members of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. With recognition that revenue was linked to how patients enter treatment, Gateway's organizational leaders suggested creating a team to study the treatment entry process.
