Derek Mechling went 4 for 4 with an RBI and Anthony Manley, Bill Torre and Pat Kimutis had three RBIs apiece as third-seeded Duquesne (25-27-1) pounded out 20 hits in a 16-6 victory against St. Bonaventure in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament at Campbell's Field in Camden, N.J.
The Dukes scored seven runs in the sixth and five in the seventh.
Duquesne will meet No. 2 Charlotte (40-14), which had a first-round bye, today in the second round. Duquesne took two of three at Charlotte in the regular season.
