Wednesday, May 21, 2008

The Penguins are exploring the possibility of opening Mellon Arena so fans can go there to watch the Stanley Cup final games played in Detroit.

A team official confirmed the idea is under consideration, but said no decision has been made. There could be one before the end of the business day, however.

Game 1 of the series between the Penguins and Detroit Red Wings is set for Saturday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
