Rt. 837 reduced to 1 lane in each direction in Duquesne
Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Traffic has been reduced to a single lane in each direction on Route 837 in Duquesne as work begins on a new access bridge to the Regional Industrial Development Corp. business park.

The work, involving a flyover from Route 837, over busy railroad tracks, and into the park, will require extensive work at the intersection of Route 837 and Center Avenue, said Doug Aiken, Allegheny County manager of construction engineering.

Vehicles heading northbound from Clairton and Dravosburg and vehicles from the Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge will not be allowed to turn left onto Center. They will have to continue on Route 837 northbound and follow the posted detour.

All traffic from Center Avenue will be required to turn right and head south on Route 837.

Southbound Route 837 traffic will have no restrictions going to the Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge.
