Kari Falk
Riverside
The past week: Falk, a junior on the Panthers' softball team, pitched a two-hitter in a 10-0 victory Tuesday against Shenango and a three-hitter in a 1-0 victory Thursday against Mohawk.
Check this out: Falk, Riverside's No. 1 pitcher since her freshman year, has a 15-1 record with more than 140 strikeouts. She also has been a standout hitter for No. 1 Riverside.
Your pitching has been impressive, but do you take pride in hitting, too? I work real hard at hitting. I also play with the Pittsburgh Power and we work real hard in the winter on hitting, too.
Could your school's baseball players hit you? I think they would probably be able to, but it would probably take them awhile to adjust. I'd like to see that, though.
Some people think slow-pitch softball would be better to watch in high school. What do you think? You do get a lot more fielding in slow pitch, but it's a lot different game. You can't steal or bunt in slow pitch. I really like fast-pitch better.
How much will you spend on your prom dress? Too much, but my mom was a lot more lenient than she wanted to be.
People might be surprised to know that ... I'm double-jointed in my arms. People seem to laugh when I show them that or they say "ewwww."

T.J. Hobart
Baldwin
The past week: At the Baldwin Invitational, Hobart was the standout in boys' distance events, winning the 800 in 1:56.13, the 1,600 in 4:16.24, anchoring the winning 1,600 relay and running the third leg in the victorious 3,200 relay.
Check this out: A junior, Hobart does not know where he's going to attend college, but "the more I think about it, I'd probably like to go somewhere warm," he said.
Ever get to the point where your body is telling you to stop? I have gotten tired, but not to the point where I wanted to stop.
How many miles do you run in a week? Right now, probably around 40 or so. During base training for cross country, that goes up to about 65 or so.
You have long, wavy hair. What is the story with your hairdo? The ladies like it (laughs). Also, you should check out my playoff beard.
How far do you think you could throw the shot put? Not very far at all. I don't even know how far those guys throw it. Me, I'd probably throw it about 10 feet.
How difficult is it when you have a big lead and you are running alone? For me, luckily, I have a teammate, Dave Adley, who is great and we push each other. But, yes, when you are out there running alone, it is very tough.
