The primary is over and it appears the voters in Gilpin, Parks, Bethel and Cadogan will go without representation in Harrisburg for two more years.
I'm not sure many of the people of these communities believe John Pallone's slogan "Working for You" has applied to them. All of the things he "claims" to have accomplished or "promises" to accomplish center on his hometown, New Kensington.
We need a representative who serves the entire 54th District; a representative who will work to bring tax relief, jobs, better transportation and highways, and better education and health care to this whole district; a representative who will fight to make our communities safe and drug-free.
The only thing I ever received from Rep. Pallone was a birthday card, and that was in a year he was up for re-election. I would rather see my tax dollars spent to better the district than reminding me I am a year older.
Maybe the only salvation for these four communities is to be redistricted with our neighboring communities in Armstrong County.
