Charges dropped against doctor in autistic boy's death
Tuesday, May 06, 2008

The Butler County District Attorney's Office today withdrew all charges against a doctor accused of causing the death of a 5-year-old boy he was treating for autism.

Dr. Roy Kerry, who has offices in Portersville, Butler County, as well as Greenville, Mercer County, now faces only a pending civil suit filed by the family of Abubakar Tariq Nadama in Mercer County.

The child died Aug. 23, 2005, in Dr. Kerry's office after the child received a chelation treatment that involved an intravenous push of a chemical that was intended to remove heavy metals from his body.

His family had brought him to the United States from Britain to receive the chelation treatment, which is not accepted by the mainstream medical community.
