More up-and-coming designers' limited-edition, look-for-less collections are arriving at Target stores this spring.
New York designer Rogan Gregory brings his eco-friendly aesthetic to the chain as the 11th "GO International" guest designer. His 60-piece womenswear collection -- which debuts first at Barney's in New York City -- is made of certified organic cotton and incorporates other environmentally sensitive materials such as organic linen, hemp and bamboo.
The line, available May 18 through June 28 at Target, has a beach safari vibe with animal prints, pops of pink and yellow, and solid-neutral tanks, tees, hoodies, vests, dresses, jeans and jumpers. Prices range from $14.99 to $44.99 in the stores and at target.com/go.
Mr. Gregory, winner last year of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award for emerging designer, established his Rogan lines of menswear and womenswear in 2001. He later created two more socially conscious collections: Loomstate, which incorporates all organic cotton and is sold at significantly higher prices at Barney's; and EDUN, which fosters sustainable employment in developing areas of the world, particularly Africa.
Also at Target, accessories designer Joy Gryson has a new line of six handbag styles in colors such as slate blue, forest green, and black and white with details ranging from pockets and multiple straps to woven textures and braided handles. They're $19.99 to $49.99 and will be available through June 21.
Ms. Gryson was born in Korea and came to the United States at age 3. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and designed bags for Coach, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs before launching her own handbag and footwear label in 2006.
