An elderly couple with dementia who had been missing since Saturday were found safe Sunday.

The couple, Francis and Anna Marie Shimko, yesterday left their home in the 300 block of Fourth Street in North Union between 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., state police said.

Their car was spotted in New Freeport, Greene County, near the West Virginia line.

The Shimkos were examined and released to relatives, who drive them home.
