Shame on WVU

Both Heather Bresch and West Virginia University should be ashamed of themselves for her claim of having earned her master of business administration degree, and WVU initially saying that, yes, indeed she had ("WVU Made 'Flawed' Decision," April 24).

Those of us who are struggling to support our families, perform our daytime jobs and work toward a graduate degree resent them both. I am four classes away from earning my M.B.A., and it's been a very difficult two years trying to make that happen. What makes it worse is that Ms. Bresch apparently earned just over half the credits needed. She wasn't even close!

This isn't even about me, and yet I feel diminished before I even graduate.

Insult to us all

As a West Virginian and a mother of a West Virginia University student, I would like to compliment you on your truth in reporting. Thanks so much for the investigation into the Heather Manchin Bresch fraudulent degree! No West Virginia newspaper would dare go where your reporters did and I think it is commendable. With all of the obvious "political back rubs" going on in our state, it is impossible to ever get the truth.

I wonder what individuals who were competing for Ms. Bresch's current position are thinking? Are they outraged that years ago they didn't stand a chance against someone with political clout and a bubblegum M.B.A.? The hard-working men and women at Mylan also have been cheated.

It is very difficult for this educated female to believe Ms. Bresch was not aware of her degree requirements via a college syllabus. How dumb do she and WVU President Mike Garrison think the citizens of West Virginia are? What an insult to the students, alumni and their families.

Fine journalism

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Patricia Sabatini and Len Boselovic for the excellent job they did on the M.B.A. that was MIA in Morgantown!

This was an example of investigative journalism at its finest. Unfortunately, as a West Virginian, I had to look to an out-of-state newspaper to get it. No matter, though; I am just glad that this type of corruption-exposing effort is still out there!

Next up, perhaps they could tackle the mass-media rush to discredit Rev. Jeremiah Wright? This Marine Corps veteran very well may be dead accurate!
