North Strabane -- Canonsburg General Hospital will offer a basic first aid course at 6 p.m. Tuesday. It enables two-year certification for those who complete it successfully. Cost is $25 and includes a manual.
An AARP driver safety program will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in McNary Conference Center. Cost is $10.
A HealthCare provider course with Automated External Defibrillator will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. New training and recertification will be available. Fee is $35.
Free skin cancer screenings will be offered from 4:30 to 6 p.m. May 13 in the Ambulatory Care Department.

Peters -- Events at the Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road, include a photography exhibit by Peters Township High School students through May 15. "Russia: What Does the Future Hold?" will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The nowU Pennsylvania's 529 College Savings Program will be discussed at 7 p.m. May 13. All events are free. Nottingham -- The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold a free star party at dusk Friday and Saturday at Mingo Creek Park Observatory. The public will have the opportunity to use the observatory's refractor and reflector.
Nottingham -- Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will offer a bike hike and safety check at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Shelter 1 in Mingo Creek County Park. Fee is $1 per child. Children must have adult accompaniment. Adults can participate in the ride.
Also, local acoustic musicians and "listeners" may participate in Campfire Jam Night at 7 p.m. Thursday. Advance registration is required.

Cecil -- A day of empowerment for women, called Road 2 Equity Tour: Washington County, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe.
