North Huntingdon commissioners hired Matt Bruno as parks and recreation director at a special meeting Wednesday. He replaces Shandra Sheftic, who resigned. His annual salary will be $44,000.

A West Hempfield resident, Mr. Bruno currently is employed by the Westmoreland County Department of Parks.
